Research Progress on Effect Proteins of Magnaporthe oryzae

Rice blast is one of the most destructive fungal diseases in rice. In recent years, it has been found that a variety of effect proteins secreted by Magnaporthe oryzae play an important role in the process of rice blast. In this paper, the progress of the research on the effect proteins of Magnaporthe oryzae were reviewed, and several important effect proteins were introduced. At the same time, the secretion and translocation of effect proteins in rice cells and the localization of effect proteins in rice cells were also discussed. These studies could provide clues for exploring the pathogenesis of rice blast and the defense response in rice. Meanwhile, these studies also could be helpful for the study on the interaction between fungal pathogens and crops, and provide a reference for future crop improvement and disease control strategies.
