The Effect of Streptomycesm microflavus on Seed Germination and Seedling of Eggplant and Cherry Tomatoes

5406 actinomycete is also called Streptomycesm microflavus or Streptomyces jingyangensis. Because of its functions at potassium and phosphorus degradation, disease resistance, growth promotion etc., had been used as a biocontrol agent and fertilizer. However there are many functions of 5406 need to study deeply. To study deeply the growth promotion of 5406 and its use on solanaceae plants. We studied the effect of 5406 fermentation broth and powder on seed germination and seedling of eggplant and cherry tomatoes. The results indicated that there are no obvious effect of 5406 fermentation broth and powder on seed germination, while have large growth promoting effect to seedlings. There are big stimulation to the root development, the weight of the root or acrial part, the chlorophyll content of leaves, cells expanding of root tip. However there have inhibiting effect on seedings growth with high content of 5406. This study provide a direction role on the utilization of 5406 in eggplant and cherry tomatoes production.
