Research Advances on Taraxacum kok-saghyz Resource Utilization and Molecular Mechanism of Natural Rubber Synthesis

Due to excellent characteristic of habitat adaptability and natural rubber production capacity, Taraxacum plant Taraxacum kok-saghyz has become an important alternative crop that replaces Brazilian rubber tree and other restricted plant resources in Chinese natural rubber production field. The study reviewed advances, industry tendency and key issues in domestic and foreign study of Taraxacum kok-saghyz from the aspects of germplasm resources utilization and evaluation, natural rubber synthetic metabolic pathway, and the molecular mechanism of natural rubber synthesis. In the meantime, it would propose suggestions for scientific resource development and exploring molecular characteristics of natural rubber biosynthesis.
