EFFECT OF CARBON CONTENT AND TEMPERING TEMPERATURE ON STRENGTHENING AND TOUGHENING OF SiMn VB STEELS

In this paper, the relationship of carbon content, tempering temperature and mechanical properties of SiMnVB steels has been studied. The effect of carbon content on strengthening and toughening of the steels under different tempering temperature is discussed. The mathematic models of strengthening and toughening at low and high tempering temperatures have been obtained by successive regression which can be used as quality control reference for products made of SiMnVB steels.
