FAILURE ANALYSIS OF HIP JOINT FRACTURED IN VIVO

The fracture and the surface of a hip joint fractured invivo has been studied by SEM. It is concluded that the fracture was due to corrosion fatigue cracking by bending stress. The corrsion fatigue crack is always initiated from corroded place and propagated and fractured due to the co-effect of corrosion and bending stress.
