PREDICTION ON THE ENERGY INTENSITY OF CHINESE STEEL INDUSTRY

LU Zhongwu ZHAI Qingguo XIE Anguo CAI Jiuju (Northeastern University) MENG Qingsheng (Ministry of Metallurgical Industry)  
In order to predict the energy intensity of Chinese steel industry, an energy consumption prediction model based on the relationship between the overall energy consumption rate per ton steel and its influencing factors has been developed. By putting the aim values of these factors into the model, the energy intensity of Chinese steel industry in the year 2000 and 2010 can be predicted. It will be 1273 and 1030 kg/t steel respectively. The relative importance of these influencing factors has been determined.
