Industrial Trial on Direct Reduction Iron Production by Rotary Hearth Furnace

In order to verify the feasibility of technology and economy on the production of direct reduction iron by rotary hearth furnace,KISC has exploited the iron ore resources of Yunnan Province to carry out large-scaled industrial trial of RHF production,under the cooperation with Shanxi Ruito Smelting Reduction Ironmaking Company.During the industrial trial,totally 991.67 t DRI products have been produced,whose metallization rate is about 79.29%.The primary technologic and economic parameters include that reductant coal rate is 301 kg/t-DRI,coal rate of gasification furnace is 290 kg/t-DRI,and the production cost is 1 179.23 RMB/t-DRI.The experimental results will provide the valuable reference for development of rotary hearth furnace direct reduction technology in China.
