Microstructure Evolution and Second Phase Analysis of Cold Rolled Thin Steel Strip Produced by CSP Process

The microstructure evolution of cold rolled thin steel strip produced by CSP process was studied by metallographic microscope and QUANTA-400 environmental scanning electronic microscope.At the same time,the chemical composition,quantity and particle size distribution of second phases in different state steel strips were investigated by chemical phase analysis and SAXS method with a 3014 X-ray diffracto-spectrometer and a Kratky small ang1e scattering goniometer.The results show that the quantity of duplex impurity in CSP thin slab is minute.The crystal grain size of the steel strip edge along the width direction during CSP hot rolling,cold rolling and annealing is finer than that of the steel strip center and this phenomenon is more obvious during CSP hot rolling than during other processes.The CSP hot rolled strip for cold rolling has only about 0.00143 percent of oxide inclusions.The precipitated phases in cold rolled and annealed thin steel strip are nano-scaled M3C and nano-scaled MC.The amount of nano-scaled M3C in annealed thin steel strip is about 26 times more than that of nano-scaled MC in annealed thin steel strip.
