INVESTIGATION OF HEAT TRANSFER PROCESS IN IRON BATH

The experiment in EOF(energy optimization furnace)with 100 kg iron has been carried out.The gas temperature and content in the iron bath and the molten iron temperature were measured.The calculating method of the heat transfer efficiency has been established based on the mechanism of the heat transfer in the iron bath. It is true that the slag drop plays an important role in transferring heat from post-combustion to molten iron with a thin slag layer. The suitable quantity of leaked in air can enhance the heat transfer efficlency and decrease the top gas temperature,that results in prolonging the service life of the furnace lining. The oxygen injection by top lance and side lance can increase the effective stirring power and enhance heat transfer efficiency.
