In this paper the impact and tensile properties of 35MnSiB and the effect of tempering temperature on them are studied. The fractrue morphology and composition at boundary have been analyzed by use of scanning electron microscope and Auger spectrometer. The results show that the brittle fracture is bascically intergranular character, there exists segragation of P, Si, carbide and nitride on grain boundaries, the size and surface state of specimens have realtive large effect on ductility, the tempering at 400℃ can greatly improve the ductility of the steel.
