PROCESS OF VACUUM DENITROGENATION OF STEEL

The kinetics experiments for steel denitrogenation in vacuum degasser have been carried out with 40 kg vacuum induction furnace and such processes as vacuum carbon oxygen reaction,surface active element control and molten slag are studied respectively.It is confirmed from the experimental results that:(1) vigorous carbon oxygen reaction under vacuum can remove nitrogen in steel bath effectively;(2) the rate of nitrogen desorption decreases with the increase of surface active element sulphur content;(3) the denitrogenation with 50 %SiO 2 40 %B 2O 3 10 %TiO 2 molten slag is better than the others.
