A STUDY ON THE VALUE OF CILI (ROSA ROXBURGHII TRATT) RESIDUE AS AN ANIMAL FEED

Chengyuan Hu Dixian Fong Chaobi (Guizliou Agricultural College) Xu Xiaoming (Agricultural Council of Guiyang City)
The nutritive composition of Cili residue has been analysed, and experimentsof feeding chicken, swine and Saanen milk goat with Cili residue as a feed source have been carried out in 1985 to 1987.he composition of Cili residue is as follows: Crude protein 7.07%, crude fibre 38.28%,crude fat 5.62%,non-nitrogen abstract 38.46%.Accordingly Cili residue belongs in coarse fodders, its metabolic energy on chicken is 1.139 Meal/kg; its digestive energy on swine is 1.229 Meal/kg; its digestive and metabolic energies on Saanen milk goat are respectively 1.528 Meal/kg and 1.197 Meal/kg. The experiments show that Cili residuecan be used as a source of mixed feed for numinants. And thus multipurpose use of Cili residue is of certain economic value.
