The Effect of Different Planting Density on Yield of Yudan 998,a New Hybrid Maize Variety

Yudan 998,a new hybrid maize variety,was tested under different planting density to study the effects on its population index,yield and yield components for providing the theoretical basis of rational planting density in its production.The results showed that there were no significant difference in leaf area/plant and dry accumulation of leaves and stems/plant between treatments with different planting density,and the leaf photosynthesistic rate declined with increase of planting density and there was significant difference in leaf photosynthesistic rate between treatments with different planting density.The highest yield(786.6kg/667m2) was obtained when the planting density was 5000 plants/667m2,which indicates Yudan 988 is a density resistant maize variety.
