The paper reported excellent response of 115 Patients with hepatitis C to Placental polypeptide therapy. The drug was given 2 ~4ml I,M.daily for 3~4 mon on average. The clinical recovery rate,Seronegativity of anti-HCV and HCV RNA were 79.1 %.34.5 % and 39.0%.respectively,and Seronegativity of HBsAg and HBV DNA were 20.3%~71.4% and 35.0%-66.7%.respectively in patients with HCV and HBV coinfection. No relapse case was found in acute hepatitis C.while 11.4% of patients with chronic hepatitis C relapsed during follow-up Periods.Liver rebiopsies at the end of the regimen revealed that all the pathological findings showed obvious improvement as compared with pretreatment slides. These findings suggest that placental Polypepride may have good effects in patients with both acute and chronic hepatitis C or with HBV and HCV coinfection.
