Cheng Peng, Xu Zhide. 153th Central Hospital, Zheng Zhou 450042
Objective To investigate the effects of combination ciprofloxain and octreotide on esophageal variceal bleeding(EVB).Methods Octreotide alone or octreotide-ciprofloxain combination were given to 30 patients with EVB,respectively. Results The hemostating rate in 6th, 12th,24th in patients with octreotide treatment were 27% , 40% , 63% respectively, While in octreotide-ciprofloxain treatment, were 50% , 70% , 93% (P 0.05 ), respectively. Serum nitric oxide levels in two groups of EVB patients decreased after octreotide or octreotide - ciprofloxain treatment. Conclusion Ciprofloxain could increase the hemostating effect of otreotide treatment in EVB patients.
