Clinical observation on treatment of chronic hepatitis B with combination of matrine and diammonium glycyrrhizinate

Objective To observe the curative effect of chronic hepatitis B with matrine and diammonium glycyrrhizinate. Methods 80 patients with hepatitis B were divided into control and treatment groups(40 cases in each group) .The control group was treated with common liver-protecting medicines such as diammonium glycyrrhizinate, kalii magnesii aspartatis. The treatment group was treated with matrine 150mg daily for 20 days at the base of common treatment. Results The total clinical efficiency rates in both groups after 20 day treatment were 62.5% and 70.0%, respectively. The total serum bilirubin level in treatment group after the treatment(23.78 ± 15.51μmol/L) improved, with HbeAg seroconversion rates ( 15% ) higher than in control (2.5%, P0.05). Conclusion Our findings indicates the treatment of clronic hepatitis B with combination of matrine and diammonium glycyrrhizinate is more effective than with diammonium glycyrrhizinate alone.
