UNDERWATER BLASTING DEMOLITION OF SUNKEN “CHANGYU” SHIP

By a blasting method of combining the cutting effect of linear charges with the tearing effect of concentrated charges,the Changyu ship with a capacity of 16000t sunk in Yangtze River by Nantong City was demolished successfully and the wracks were removed from the waterway In this paper,the design and operation of underwater blasting were briefly introduced As one of main methods for the disintegration of sunk ships and the clearing of waterways,the underwater blasting has the advantages of rapidity,high effectiveness and economy It is available for reference to other similar projects
