The Characteristic of Amplitude and Period of Near Fault Ground Motion of the September 21,1999 Taiwan Earthquake

Wang Guoquan et al
In this paper, the acceleration time history of 30 near fault stations triggerd by September 21 ,1999 Taiwan earthquake is taken as sample to study the random characteristic of periods (frequencies) and amplitudes The main content includes : peak ground acceleration (PGA),characteristic time and duration, amplitude probability-density spectra, amplitude envelope ,period-frequency spectra and crossing-zero rate functions A double peak point method is presented to find the envelope, and the corresponding mathematical model is established
