Incremental Dynamic Analysis Applied to Seismic Risk Assessment of Hybrid Structure

Incremental Dynamic Analysis(IDA)is applied in a performance-based earthquake engineering context to investigate expected structural response,damage outcomes and financial loss from building structures.This quantitative risk analysis procedure consists of:adopting a suitable suite of ground motions and performing IDA on a nonlinear model of the prototype structure;summarizing and parameterizing the IDA results into various percentile performance bounds;and integrating the results with respect to hazard-recurrence risk relation into a probabilistic risk format.By applying IDA to a 25-story hybrid structure,the IDA curves and corresponding limit-state capacities of the 16%,50% and 84% fractiles are obtained,then the seismic risk assessment of this hybrid structure is carried out.The reliability and feasibility of applied IDA are verified by comparing with the experimental results of the example hybrid structure.
