Experimental Research on Deformation Properties of Square Concrete Columns Strengthened with CFRP Sheets at Cold Area

For the poor construction conditions in winter,the study on technology of CFRP reinforced concrete structure is significant to secure structure repairing construction in urban lifeline engineering under the condition of winter cold environment. The damage form and mechanical performance of unreinforced and reinforced specimens which are parceled with carbon fiber( 8 groups of 42 specimens)are studied after curing outdoor in the cold environment at the temperature of 15℃,-15℃,-25℃ through axial compression damage contrast test. The experimental results show that temperature has little influence on deformation of steel and CRFP,but temperature change could influence the deformation property of concrete. Generally,the bearing capacity,deformation property and ductility performance of the strengthened short plan concrete columns and reinforced concrete columns are significantly improved. By comparing the bearing capacities at the temperature of-25℃,-15℃ and 15℃,it shows that the bearing capacity decreases while the temperature decreases. But when wrapping two layers of CFRP,the enhanced effect has small decline. All in all,it showes that the reinforcement effect of the specimens is strongly influenced by temperature. The bearing capacity of the specimens declines as the temperature decreases,but increased the usage of CFRP could resist the temperature influence on reinforcement effect within certain limits.
