HYBRID METHOD OF FINITE ELEMENT AND FINITE STRIP FOR CALCULATION OF TALL BUILDNG STRUCTURES

t In this paper the accuracy of the transverse displacements of the traditional finite strip method is improved by means of interpolation.The problem of shear distortion occurred in calculation of tall building structures by the traditional finite strip method can be solved satisfactorily .The solution obtained by the new method is more accurate and reliable than that by the traditional method, although the former need few more unknown quantities than the latter.
