CONTROL OF SEISMIC RESPONSE FOR CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE BASED ON MODAL ANALYSIS

Based on modal analysis, two algorithms to implement the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQRapproach and sliding mode control are presented. They are used to mitigate the seismic response of cable-stayed bridges. It is shown that the two algorithms are feasible and effective in the context of long-span bridges. Inaddition, the sliding mode control can achieve better control result than the LQR for less requirement of external energy.
