Statistical Analysis of Climatologic Characteristics of High-Temperature Weather of Qingyuan City

Using the surface observations from seven stations in Qingyuan from 1970 to 2010(41years) and with the method of tendency analysis,we made a statistical analysis of the climatologic characteristics of high-temperature weather in the city. The result is shown as follows. In the spatial distribution,the number of high-temperature days(NHTD) shows an obviously decreasing trend from the northwest to the southeast,with a large difference between the north and the south of the city such that the station with the maximum NHTD(in Yangshan) is more than three times as many as that with the minimum(in Lianshan).For the overall trend of interdecadal variation,the NHTD gradually increases,though with unstable multiple waves,such as a pattern of "two peaks versus one valley". The 1980 s and the post-2000 time witnessed frequent occurrence of high-temperature weather. For the 41 years,1997 was the year with the least occurrence while 2009 the year with the most. The NHTD concentrates in July and August.
