Diagnosis Method for Transformer Winding Looseness Based on Vibration

This paper analyzes frequency components of the transformer winding vibration and points out that 100 Hz vibration component is the core component and amplitudes of vibration components close to 100 Hz are larger. In order to avoid influence of iron core vibration on diagnosis of winding looseness,it proposes a diagnosis method for transformer winding looseness which takes ratio of 50 Hz vibration component and 150 Hz vibration component as the characteristic quantity. Experiment on winding looseness of110 k V large transformer was performed,vibration signals at monitoring points were collected,vibration components of specified frequencies were extracted and diagnosis characteristic quantities were calculated. Experiment results indicate that ratio of 50 Hz vibration component and 150 Hz vibration component changes obviously before and after winding looseness which can be taken as diagnosis basis for transformer winding looseness.
