Performance evaluation of dim target tracking algorithm

A framework for performance evaluation of dim target tracking algorithm was presented. By analyzing the characteristics of dim target detection and tracking, the testing image database was established according to the characteristics of background, target and tracking disturbance. And the different conditions of target tracking were analyzed including true trajectory, normal trajectory vanishing, mistake trajectory, missing trajectory and false trajectory. Based on simulating true target data, dim target tracking algorithm was evaluated by valid tracking evaluation and valid tracking precision. The experiment shows that the method of performance evaluation is effective for dim target tracking algorithm.
