Experimental investigations on the partially coherent flattop beam profiles

The generation of the partially coherent flattop profiles in the focused field was studied by modulating the spatial coherence of incident light. The process of the generation of the flattop beam profiles was observed by CCD and it was shown that the partially coherent flattop profiles appeared in two position of the focused field. Besides, the factors which affected the distance between the two positions and the size of the flattop profiles were studied. The experimental investigation shows that the size of the flattop profiles and the distance between the two positions decrease with the increase of the spatial coherent length and the obstruction ratio of the annular aperture. And the flattop profiles and the distance between the two positions increase with the increase of the focus of the focusing lens.
