A Simulation Study on Facility Layout of Production System

Comparison analysis is made for the existing three types of production line layout: L-line,U-line,and the cellular manufacturing.Based on the analysis,a simulation study on a displayer manufacturing process in an electronic company is conducted.Results show that for single product with small batch U-line is better,while for single product with large batch,or the number of products is small but the quantity is large,or the number of products is large but the quantity is small,cellular manufacturing performs the best.
