Clinical Evaluation on the Effect of MKI and Asc-52 Precision Attachments in Restoration of Posterior Distal Extension Edentulous Cases

Objective Comparison of clinical effect of MK1 and Asc-52 precision attachments in restoration of posterior distal extension edentulous cases.Methods Using MK1 and Asc-52 precision attachments to restore 36 patients in2 groups with posterior distal extension edentulous cases.Make a comprehensive evaluation of the clinical effect of two kinds of attachments after two-years' clinical observation and X-ray examination.Results All the 36 patients in2 groups feel comfortable and beautiful,which have normal voice,good masticatory function,and the prosthesis are stable.Clinical review show that no loosing in base teeth,no shrinking back in gums,no swelling of gums on the tissue surface of dentures,no tenderness,solid,no swinging.No absorption of alveolar bone on X-ray films,no lesions in the apical.Four patients of MK1 groups said that it was inconvenient to insert and remove because the keyhole was near the distal margin of the denture.Conclusion Two kinds of precision attachments MK1 and Asc-52 are perfect prosthesis in the restoration of posterior distal extension edentulous cases.
