Theoretical and experimental analysis of wavelength conversion in dispersion-flatted photonic crystal fibers

We demonstrate all-optical wavelength conversion based on four-wave mixing.We use the 30 m dispersion-flattened photonic crystal fiber with anomalous dispersion in the experiment.For an average pump power of 26 dBm,the conversion efficiency is around-19.5 dB,covering a conversion bandwidth of 20 nm.Then the dispersion-flattened photonic crystal fiber with normal dispersion is used to replace the former one.Through theoretical and experimental analysis,we get the conclusion that two different kinds of fibers above-mentioned can get almost the same conversion efficiency and conversion bandwidth.
