Refractive index measurement of bio-tissue based on Fourier domain optical coherence tomography

The measurement of bio-tissue refractive index based on Fourier domain optical coherence tomography(FDOCT)is presented.Compared with optical path matching method based on time domain optical coherence tomography(TDOCT),this method has the advantage of high speed.The refractive index can be deduced by completing Fourier transformation of interference spectra that are taken with and without sample respectively.This method can make the measurement fast and easy to control,and shorten the measurement time to ensure that the measured values are close to physiological status.Through measuring the refractive index of a fused silica and a sub-surface of a cucumber at the wavelength of 1 300 nm,the validity of this method is verified.
