Analysis of the surface plasmon resonance sensor based on the multimode Optical fiber

Surface plasmon resonance sensors have very good refractive index sensitivity and broad prospect in application.Basing on multilayer transfer matrix theory,the spectral characteristics of sensor based on the multimode fiber are analyzed,including coating length,diameter,thickness of cladding and the ambient refractive index.The simulation results show that the smaller cladding diameter is,the greater resonance depth,the resonance wavelength presents exponential increase with film thickness increasing,and the effect is optimal at 30-40 nm.In ambient refractive index range of 1.33-1.40,the resonance wavelength drifts right and the depth increases with ambient refractive index increasing.At the same time,preliminarily theoretical results are verified by experiment.
