Progress in Thermodynamics,Physical Characterization and Modeling of Molecular Imprinting Polymers

Molecularly imprinted polymers(MIPs) are polymers that can be tailored with affinity and selectivity for a molecule of interest.In addition to improving binding performance of MIPs and finding more efficient synthetic methodologies,thermodynamic aspects,including modeling,analytical and numerical methods used for calculating the adsorption isotherms and the adsorption energy distribution were important research topics in recent years.Progress in the thermodynamics,physical characterization and modeling of molecular imprinting was reviewed according the stage of preparation of the MIPs: the formation of pre-polymerization complex,the construction of polymer network and the binding properties of MIPs.
