Numerical Simulation of Personnel Evacuation in City Bus

Because of the large personnel mobility, large capacity, confined space and complicated traffic environment, the bus is relatively difficult to evacuate if there is a fire. Using Building Exodus software to simulate the evacuation process of a typical city bus during a fire, analyze the influence of different location of evacuation exit on the safety evacuation of personnel. The results show that when the vehicle is on fire, under the condition of existing evacuation, the vehicle add the back window and the window which is close to the front of windshield, the total area of 6.76 m2 as evacuation exit, the evacuation time are 47.9 s and 39.8 s;saving13.5 s and 21.6 s.The results can provide theoretical basis and relevant suggestions for personnel evacuation of city buses.
