Quasi-2D Flow Model with Shallow Water Table at Regional Scale

The governing equations of the proposed quasi 2-D model were vertical 1-D in vadose zone which was got by averaging 3-D Richard's equation in the given horizontal sub-areas and vertical 2-D in saturated zone achieved by integrating 3-D Richard's equation along lateral aquifer.The coupling relation was deduced and iterative algorithm was provided.The grid change in the interface of groundwater table was introduced.Verification of the quasi 2-D model was achieved by comparing results with those of SWMS_2D according to the analytical resolution and computation efficiency was examined by running the unsteady example with SWMS_2D.
