Effect of nitrogen levels on content of chlorophyll and quality of wheat and corn in monocropping and intercropping

This study compared the effect of nitrogen levels on chlorophyll content and quality of wheat and corn in monocropping and intercropping through field experiment. The results showed that, with the same nitrogen application, chlorophyll content of intercropped wheat was higher than that of monocropped wheat, while chlorophyll content of intercropped corn was lower than that of monocropped corn. Moreover, chlorophyll contents of intercropped and monocropped wheat at anthesis were separately positively correlated to protein content and sedimentation value (r=0.960~*, 0.948~*, 0.968~*,0.957~*, respectively), and chlorophyll contents of intercropped and monocropped corn at booting stage were separately positively correlated to protein content(r=0.861~*,0.870~*, respectively).
