Growth caracteristics of different tree species for shelterbelt in Huajialing

Different tree species of shelterbelts in Huajialing located in the Loess hilly region were taken as the research object in this paper. The growth index of different stand types and different ages of shelterbelts were researched,and the growth characteristics of Huajialing artificial shelterbelt were analyzed according to the method of site investigation. The results are as follows: 1The indices,including DBH,mean height and stand volume of P. asperata pure forest and P. tabuliformis pure forest which belongs to young forest were better than or close to P. hopeiensis pure forest with the average age achieved 37. 5a. 2The mean DBH and mean height in each forest showed negative correlation with stand density. The growth situation of P. hopeiensis theropencedrymion was better than pure forest,while P. asperata pure forest and P. tabuliformis pure forest were better than the theropencedrymion. 3The DBH growth in P. asperata forest was more significant during 10 a ~ 15 a and 25 a ~ 30 a,while the height growth was more significant during 20a ~ 25a.
