Influence of pretreatment methods on grain size of Aeolian deposits of Holocene in Qinghai Lake region

Pre- treatments test on Holocene Aeolian deposits from the east of Qinghai Lake indicated that:( 1)Removing organic matter or carbonate or not had little effect on Aeolian sand,however,it could decrease the content of coarse fraction and increase the content of fine fraction for paleosol.( 2) Adding dispersant had little influence on modern moving dune sand; but a litter for paleo- aeolian sand; dispersant worked well in paleosol except under method G( adding dispersant after removing carbonate) and H( adding dispersant after removing organic matter and carbonate),illustrating the main function of dispersant was to decrease the cementation of carbonate.( 3) Ultrasonic had little influence on Aeolian sand,on the contrary,it could decrease the content of coarse fraction and increased the content of fine fraction under method A( soak),and had a little influence on samples which without chemical treatment. Except traditional method( method H),method A was suitable for Aeolian sand,method E( removing organic matter and carbonate) and G were the best for paleosol in this region.
