Characteristics and governing factors of water chemistry in Yongding River replenished by reclaimed water

Beijing has been facing long-term drought and water resources shortage,and the replenishment of reclaimed water can effectively recover the dry Yongding River. However,it is necessary to monitor and study the water quality of the reclaimed water. By the sampling,field and laboratory experiments,and analysis of the upstream reservoir and river water data,we got some conclusions as follows: reclaimed water has high alkalinity,salt,nitrogen( major forms: nitrate) and phosphorus,while the contents of heavy metals are low. Significant characteristics of the spatial variation are that the content of major anions and cations,ammonia nitrogen,nitrite nitrogen,nitrate nitrogen and phosphate( except fluorine) decrease significantly after the treatment of wetland in Yuanboyuan Park. Combined with the Gibbs diagram,the relationships of ions and p H-pe were found that the chemical compositions are controlled by evaporation crystallization and water rock interaction( dolomite,gypsum,calcite and other carbonate and silicate mineral),and the reaction of cation exchange adsorption( sodium,calcium and magnesium) and the nitrification.
