Influence of environmental equity perception on farmers' intention to reduce carbon emissions of cultivated land use

Based on the micro-survey data of 1,023 farmers in Shaanxi,Gansu,Shanxi,Anhui and Jiangsu provinces,we explored the influence of environmental equity perception on farmers' intention to reduce carbon emissions of cultivated land use by combining factor analysis and structural equation modeling. At the same time,the intermediary effect of intergenerational environment equity perception was analyzed. The results show that:1) The regional environmental equity perception and intergenerational environmental equity perception have a significant positive impact on farmers' intention to reduce carbon emissions. However,the direct impact of group environmental equity perception on farmers' intention to reduce carbon emissions is not significant. 2) The intermediary role of intergenerational environment equity perception is not obvious between regional environmental equity perception and farmers' intention to reduce carbon emissions of cultivated land use. However,there is a strong intermediary role between the group environmental equity perception and farmers' intention. 3) Gender,age and education level are also the key factors influencing farmers' intention to reduce carbon emissions of cultivated land use. It is suggested to raise awareness of environmental responsibility of farmers through various channels and set up a long-term mechanism to compensate for the use of carbon abatement in cultivated land. Improving farmer's educational level through kinds of ways,such as field school,and increase their intention to reduce carbon emissions of cultivated land use.
