LI Jianyu;CHEN Xiaonan;College of Economics and Management,Northwest A&F University;
In recent years,all levels of government in China have substantially increased investment in rural people's livelihood projects. As a typical livelihood project that covers ecology,poverty alleviation,housing,and employment,it is particularly important to explore the ecological migration project's implementation effects and examine the successes and failures of related policies. Based on the sustainable livelihoods approach,we compared the impact of different migration characteristics on the livelihoods of rural households in typical villages of resettlement project in southern Shaanxi,and then using multivariate logit model to study the impact of migration project on farmers' choice of livelihood strategy. The results show that the livelihood capital of migration households was slightly better than that of non-migration households. Although the natural capital of farmers was damaged because of migration project,the human capital,physical capital and financial capital of farmers had been improved. Followed by natural capital,physical capital and financial capital were the most significant factors influencing the choice of risk coping strategies,human capital and social capital were the least significant factors influencing the choice of coping strategies.
