Research and the application to factories show that the initial permeabilityof the high--speed steel Parts droPS with the rise in hardening temperature and increases with therise in tempering temperature. There is an "C" shape relation between the hardness of the high' speed steel Parts and the displayed value on the. "WGF- I type micro-computer-based automaticquality of material separator for steel and bonn which is hosed on the principle of initialpermeability. The overheated. overburnt and cracked parts all appear at the lower half pet ofthe "C" shape relation. Therefore, we can test the overheating, the overburning, the cracks andthe hardness of the high--speed steel parts accurately with the WGF--I instrument only. Theprecision of the hardness testing 'can be HRC ± 1. The testing speed can be 1500 perts perhour.
