Evolution of Farmland Water Conservancy Project in North China——Investigation Based on S Village

The S Village is located in the major grain-producing area of North China Plain.Water conservancy project in north China directly influences grain output of the S village.The water conservancy construction of the village has experienced stages of conventional well irrigation,tube-well irrigation,farmland water conservancy capital construction,farmland water conservancy pipe network reconstruction and deep wells.The water conservancy construction of the S village reflects that engineering construction should take technology progress as a prerequisite;tube wells are discarded continuously due to lack of water and deeper tube wells are drilled,because the decrease of rainfall and increase of water consumption lead to the rapid decline of groundwater level;the water conservancy project is mainly funded by the government while farmers are reluctant to invest;the government only provide funds for construction without engineering maintenance funds;S Village needs to look for new sources of irrigation water because the underground deep water is non-renewable.
