The incidence of adjacent-level degeneration after cervical disc replacement in patients with degenerative cervical spondylosis in mainland Chinese population: A Meta-analysis

Objective To investigate the incidence of adjacent-level degeneration after artificial cervical disc replacement( ACDR) in the mainland of China. Methods The related literatures in Chinese and English published from January 1997 to October 2016 were systematically searched. The English databases included Pubmed,OVID,Cochrane Library and Embase. The Chinese databases included Chinese Biomedical Literature Database( CBM),CNKI,VIP Database and Wanfang Database. The studies reporting the incidence of adjacent-level degeneration after ACDR were included. The information was extracted and a Meta-analysis was conducted using Stata 12. 0. Results A total of 20 articles were included. The incidence of adjacent-level degeneration was 0. 4% and 29. 0% respectively in 24 months and 72 months after ACDR. Conclusion In the mainland of China,the incidence of adjacent-level degeneration is lower in the short term after ACDR,but is higher in the forward.
