LEARNING FOR PRACTICE——A REVIEW OF ELECTROMAGNETISM IN AMERICA'S COLLEGE PHYSICS

SUN Huarui;School of Science,Harbin Institute of Technology(Shenzhen);
Learning how to use physics to solve practical science and engineering problems is one of the main objectives of the College Physics course series.College Physics in America pays great attention to training students' ability to practice physics knowledge in real life.Using Electromagnetism as an example,we analyze the contents of the chapters in an America' s College Physics textbook and summarize the key characteristics such as the extent and categorization of topics,the introduction of new concepts,mathematical derivations,and the logical transition between sections.Comparing with the content of Electromagnetism in College Physics in China,we discuss the role of aforementioned factors in"Learning for Practice".
