TENSOR ANALYSIS OF THE SUSCEPTIBILITY OF ROCKS AND ORES

Ke Hansheng (Qinhuangdao University for Metallurgic-geology staves)
The magnetic anisotropy due to the construsction and texture of rockscan be represented by the susceptibility tensor. For the sedimentary-meta-morphic iron formation, the susceptibility tensor is a symmetrie second-ordersquare matrix in the selected coordinates, and has five effective components. Its pattern is a ellipsoid or four leaved rose curve.
