Void Detection under PCC Pavement

Based on the new mechanic joint model under repetitive loading,a variety of influential factors on first critical load under Load-transfer condition and correlated deflection are discussed.The result shows that the influence on deflection caused by void is noticeable.Then,a model and a method for void detection,which use the first critical load under load-transfer condition and correlated deflection,rather than single deflection,as their criteria,are proposed.This model makes void detection based on single PCC pavement system and eliminates the influence caused by indefinite load-transfer capacity.At the final partf this paper,the typical correlationship between void and deflection is given,which makes it possible to apply FWD to quick void detection.
