Design and Computation for Piers of Overpass Bridge on Chongqing-Lichuan Railway

Computation of piers and especially values of computed length of piers have not been well solved and are also problems puzzling engineers and technicians for long time.On the basis of the basic theory of push rod stability and in combination with practical experiences,this paper analyzes and computes stress on piers of overpass bridge Chongqing-Lichuan Railway during construction and application,and expatiates basic ideas for values of computed length of that bridge to provide a reference for the industry.
