Research and Analysis of Angle Welding Seam Split on the Water Wall Heater in a 600MW Supercritical“W”Shaped Flame Boiler

First of all,reasons of angle welding seam split on the water wall heater in a 600 MW Supercritical "W"shaped flame boiler were analyzed in this study. Meanwhile,a stress analysis method was adopted to calculate alternating stress of the water wall heater by AYSYS. The results indicated that temperature differences of different tube panels and pipes based on the water wall heater inlet,and design problems about the heater structure together led to serious alternating stress on the water wall heater. In order to solve the angle welding seam split,decreasing the length of the fin on the water wall,and changing the sealing structure of the water wall heater were used. The operating results were worthwhile to lower the alternating stress of the water wall heater.
