Studies on the Synthesis and Antitumor Activity of Polyether Containing Silatrane in the Main Chain

Four polyethers containing γ-aminopropylsilatrane (PA_(1-4) were synthesized by the reaction of ethylene glycol or polyethyleneglycol diglycidyl ether with aminoethanol and then with γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. Twelve polyethers containing γ-arylidene-aminopropylsilatrane in the main chain (PS_(1-12)) were synthesized by the condensation of PA_(1-4) with arylaldehydes in toluene. The structure of these polymers were identified by IR, UV, ~1H NMR spectra and elementary analysis. Number average molecular weight was determined by vapor phase osmometer.The results of in vitro cell culture testing showed that polymers PS_(1-12) exhibit certain antitumor activity.
