Study on Radiation Crosslinked PDMVS-PE Binary Alloy Membrane

The influences of radition dosage and polyethlene content on the function character-istic of alloy membrane (PDMVSPEM) from vinly-containtion polydimethylsiloxane(PDMVS).and PE after crosslinking induced by r-ray radiation were studied. The rela-tionship between structure and property of the PDMVSPEM was also discussed.It wasfound that the homogeneus member of PDMVS-PE was easily prepared by thermal me-chanic blend if temperature condition had been satified. The radiation effects of thePDMVSPEM was radiation dosage display as follows:when the radiation dosage 0.04MGy it produces crosslinking; 0.04 MGy the crosslinking and degradationproceedequilibrium at the same time; while 0.08 MGy the degradation is prepondance.The gas permeability of the PDMVSPEM has not chang. The Po_2 decreased contineuslyas asymmdetric S type and the enchancing speed of tensile modulus Eis greater than thatof tensile strength δ, whereas the breaking elongation εvarried along an U trail with in-creasing of PE content in the PDMVSPEM. The varried bottom of which is corre-sponding to the phase inversion point, appears at 40--50% of PE content. Measurementof XPS and water contact angle indicate that the PDMVS segment are enriched at thesurface than that in bulk and though the surface charateristic of the PDMVSPEM con-taining 90% of PE is still similar to that of pure ailicone rubber.
